About
German singer and guitarist Kai Strauss has built a solid reputation on the European blues circuit, drawing early inspiration from Buddy Guy, Albert King, and the Vaughan Brothers. He turned professional in 1995, joining Texas born vocalist Memo Gonzalez, and has since performed in more than twenty countries, including festival appearances across Europe and the Caribbean. Bruce Iglauer of Alligator Records has singled him out for his vocals, songwriting, and what Iglauer called mature, storytelling guitar playing. Kai Strauss & The Electric Blues Allstars is an internationally assembled band that blends blues roots with funk and soul. Their seventh album Night Shift shows Strauss growing as a songwriter, tackling both personal subjects and weightier contemporary themes alongside his characteristically energetic guitar work. He has taken home multiple German Blues Awards over the course of his career.
