About
Karen Lee Andrews is an Australian singer and multi instrumentalist from Wollongong with a soulful, raw edge that tends to stop people in their tracks. Her debut album Dirty Soul Live from the Rec Studio landed on the ARIA Jazz Album Charts at number 2, and she has built a reputation as one of the more compelling voices on the Australian soul and roots scene. She spent time performing under the name Ms Murphy before stepping out fully under her own name. Her connection to Jimmy Barnes says a lot about where she sits in Australian music. She has toured with him on multiple occasions, and during his Soul Deep 30 tour she shared a stage duet of Wilson Pickett's In the Midnight Hour with Barnes, who joked that her voice made his sound like a fly at rehearsals. Her 2022 EP EDIN, produced by Benjamin Rodgers, added another chapter to a catalogue that also includes Far From Paradise and the earlier EPs White Dress and the Spirit and Stride.
