About
Kathryn Claire builds her songs around two things: her violin and her voice. Her style is a mix of folk and pop that she calls harmonic folk pop, and it draws on a classical and traditional music background. She writes her own material, both songs and instrumental violin pieces, and moves easily between genres without losing her own sound. Her lyrics lean poetic and personal, and her singing is clear and bright. She often performs as a trio, with Allen Hunter on bass and Sid Ditson on a second violin, which gives the arrangements a layered, harmony heavy feel. Her stage presence is known for its warmth and energy.
