About
Kieran Kane and Kevin Welch are two of the minds behind Dead Reckoning Records, the independent label they co founded in 1994 alongside Tammy Rogers, Mike Henderson, and Harry Stinson. Both artists had already carved out serious careers in Nashville before joining forces, and their shared sensibility for rootsy, honest songwriting made their collaboration a natural fit. Teaming up with Fats Kaplin, they released You Can't Save Everybody in 2004, then followed it with Lost John Dean in 2006, which hit number one on the Americana charts and earned them a Duo/Group of the Year nomination at the Americana Honors and Awards. Their self titled Kane Welch Kaplin record, which brought in Lucas Kane, landed another nomination in the same category. The trio toured relentlessly, reaching Australia ten times as well as Europe, Canada, and across the United States.
