About
Klangstof made history as the first Dutch band to play Coachella, which says a lot about how quickly this Amsterdam indie rock trio made an impression internationally. The band is built around Koen van de Wardt, Wannes Salome and Erik Buschmann, signed to Mind of a Genius, and their name blends the Norwegian word for reverb with the Dutch word for dust, a fitting collision given their sound sits somewhere between hazy atmosphere and sharp indie rock. Their debut album Close Eyes To Exit arrived in 2016, introducing singles like Hostage and We Are Your Receiver. They followed it up with The Noise You Make Is Silent in 2020 and Godspeed to the Freaks in 2022, the same year they put out the Ocean View EP. That sustained output shows a band with plenty to say, and the range across those records keeps things from getting predictable.
