About
Klezmagic weave together Balkan music, klezmer and their own eclectic influences into something that is as danceable as it is genuinely moving. The Amsterdam group builds their sound around driving rhythms, rousing brass and sweeping strings, and they have a track record of getting crowds moving everywhere from small clubs to large festival stages. Their debut album 'MAKEDAMSKO' came out in 2019 and established a recognisable identity that they have kept developing through singles, an EP and a live album. The EP 'De Grote Race' (2022) pushes the band's palette further, drawing on ska alongside the Balkan and klezmer foundations. Their album 'Op Vrije Voeten' wanders between melancholy and joy, urban and natural settings, chaos and stillness, drawing on Eastern European, Turkish, Italian and Dutch musical traditions. Years of touring Europe together have made the chemistry between the musicians something you can almost feel from the audience.
