Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen started Knife Party as a side project to their drum and bass band Pendulum, then watched it swallow their main act whole. The duo, rooted in Perth and London, built their name on a run of EPs packed with hard hitting electronic tracks, from the early buzz of 'Internet Friends' to the relentless energy of 'Bonfire', which ended up on a Breaking Bad episode and in the WWE 2K15 soundtrack. Their 2013 EP Haunted House hit the iTunes Top 10 and peaked at number one in the Electro House chart on Beatport. Their debut album Abandon Ship arrived in 2014 under chaotic circumstances after iTunes accidentally dropped it early, and Swire himself shrugged it off publicly. They have kept pushing since, collaborating with Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine on 'Battle Sirens' and launching their own radio show Knifecast in 2018. Their 2019 EP Lost Souls debuted at number seven on the US Billboard Dance/Electronic Album Sales chart.
