Knocked Loose from Oldham County, Kentucky have spent over a decade building one of the most physically intense sounds in hardcore punk. Their 2021 EP A Tear in the Fabric of Life pushed into death metal territory and came packaged with an animated short film directed by Swedish filmmaker Magnus Jonsson, documenting a story of extreme grief. Critics took notice, and the release earned widespread acclaim. Their third full length, You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To, arrived in 2024 on Pure Noise Records and topped the UK Hard Rock and Metal chart. The 2024 album brought some notable features along with it, including collaborations with Poppy on "Suffocate" and Chris Motionless on "Slaughterhouse 2". Knocked Loose trades heavily in breakdowns and a raw, punishing energy that sits somewhere between metalcore and beatdown hardcore. Their 2019 record A Different Shade of Blue helped cement them as a headlining force, and the momentum has only grown since.
