Kyle Hagberg, releasing music as Kompany, has built a serious reputation in the dubstep world through a string of releases on Never Say Die Records, the British label that also counts acts like Trampa and Spag Heddy among its roster. His EPs Revolt, New Reign, and Metropolis have been central to that run, and New Reign in particular drew praise for pushing past standard heavy dubstep into something critics called a new breed of bass. His collaborations tell a lot about where he sits in the scene. He has worked with G Rex, YOOKiE, Wooli, and Tynan, among others, and his remix of Illenium's "Free Fall" was singled out for completely rearranging the original into what one reviewer called a dubstep riot. His sound design is a recurring talking point, whether it is the metallic gooeyness of "Extraterrestrial" with Tynan or the bone chilling atmosphere of "GENOCiDE" with YOOKiE.
