About
Koninklijke Zangvereniging Mastreechter Staar is a choir from Maastricht, and the name gives away the royal seal of approval it carries. Singing is the whole point here, with a repertoire that moves comfortably between quiet, reverent choral pieces and more crowd pleasing material. Their Christmas concert is a long standing tradition held on Boxing Day, which the choir treats as a moment for gathering and reflection. The programme mixes hushed carols and stately choral works with well loved melodies from opera, musical theatre and film, so there is something for people who like their music solemn and for those who want a good tune to hum on the way home.
