One of the earliest voices in Indian hip hop, KR$NA built his reputation long before the genre went mainstream in India. Coming up under the name Prozpekt, he scored a landmark moment in 2010 when "Kaisa Mera Desh" became the first Indian hip hop song on YouTube, hitting the number 2 spot on India's most watched videos overnight. He later signed to Universal Music India and dropped his debut album Sellout in 2014, becoming the first hip hop artist in the country to do a five city album tour with a live band. His comeback in 2016 with the Hindi track "Vyanjan" kicked off a prolific run that included his sophomore album Still Here, released through Kalamkaar Records, and high profile collaborations with American acts like Royce da 5'9", KXNG Crooked, Tech N9ne and Twista. He's also no stranger to rap beef, with a well documented back and forth against Emiway Bantai generating some of the most talked about diss tracks in desi hip hop. His diss "Makasam" against Muhfaad is widely considered a benchmark in the genre.
