About
An electronic art rock band from Beijing, KyoYoko pulls together industrial punk, electronica, new wave, post punk and free jazz into something that refuses to sit still. Their live shows lean theatrical and unpredictable, which makes sense for a group that actively resists being pinned to any one genre. Founded in 2020, they moved quickly through the Beijing indie scene and won the Best New Band title in 2021, just ahead of their debut album Gorrrre!. Since then they have taken their live show to international stages including Zandari Fest in Seoul and White Festival in Novosibirsk. Their second album, Mirrored Chamber, pushes further into satirical rock and experimental composition while also making room for quieter, more restrained moments. The common thread across everything they do is a willingness to go somewhere unexpected.
