About
LANY, pronounced 'Lay Nee', is an American pop rock band built around vocalist and guitarist Paul Klein and drummer Jake Goss. The name is an acronym for Los Angeles New York, a span across the country that Klein felt captured something about the band's sound and aesthetic. They started anonymously in 2014, uploading two songs to SoundCloud with zero followers, and within six days labels were already reaching out. Their breakout track 'ILYSB' earned RIAA certification and set the tone for a string of polished, emotionally direct pop records released through Polydor and Interscope. Albums like Malibu Nights and Mama's Boy cemented their fanbase, particularly in Southeast Asia where they sold out an arena in the Philippines in under 24 hours. In 2023 they put out A Beautiful Blur on their own Sunset Records imprint, a clean break from their major label years, and a sixth studio album titled Soft followed in 2025.
