About
Last Dinosaurs are a Brisbane indie rock trio whose name comes from a song by Japanese rock band The Pillows, which feels fitting given that the Caskey brothers are of Japanese descent. Their 2010 debut EP Back from the Dead got them onto high rotation on Triple J, and their 2012 debut album In a Million Years cracked the Australian Albums Chart top ten, kicking off a run of sold out tours across Australia, the UK and Europe. Since then they have kept a steady pace, with Wellness in 2015, the self produced Yumeno Garden in 2018, and From Mexico with Love in 2022, the last of which was written by guitarist Lachlan Caskey while quarantined in Mexico during COVID 19. Their sound has room to roam too: the 2020 single Flying ditched the guitar driven approach for something closer to French house and nu disco. Their fifth album KYORYU arrived in 2024, showing no sign of slowing down.
