About
Laura Evans spent years as a familiar face on British children's TV and in pantomime before reinventing herself as a country blues singer. Kids knew her as Madison, Basil Brush's American next door neighbour, a role she played from 2004 to 2007 and modelled partly on Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde. She has also played Cinderella several times on stage, and appeared in a radio play of Under Milk Wood singing as Polly Garter. The music side took off properly in 2020. Her single "Running Back To You" topped the UK iTunes blues chart and reached 43 on the US blues chart, and "Drag Me Back In" followed, hitting number 2 on the UK blues chart with airplay on BBC Radio Wales and Planet Rock. Her 2022 debut album, State Of Mind, went to number 1 on the UK blues chart and got plenty of press attention. Before that came a country EP, Remember When, in 2014, and she toured as special guest with Californian rock band Robert Jon & the Wreck.
