Laura Palmer is a four piece band that wraps itself in shoegaze while pushing into more experimental territory. Their sound is built around abrasive melodies, drifting drones and hazy, dreamlike soundscapes, all of it adding up to something that feels like a dystopian soundtrack running at full tilt. There is an unsettling quality to what they do, a kind of disorienting tension between beauty and noise that keeps things interesting.
