About
Musicians from the Concertgebouworkest come together in smaller chamber configurations to perform some of the great quintet repertoire for piano and winds. Their programme centres on Mozart's Quintet for piano, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn, a work Mozart himself described in a letter to his father as the best thing he had ever written. Alongside it sits Beethoven's Quintet for the same combination of instruments, a piece that shares its scoring with the Mozart and makes for a natural and revealing pairing.
