About
Leif Vollebekk has a knack for making indie folk feel genuinely spacious and contemplative. The Montreal based Canadian singer songwriter broke through with Twin Solitude in 2017, an album that earned both a Polaris Music Prize shortlist spot and a Juno nomination for Adult Alternative Album of the Year. His profile got another quiet boost in 2024 when that album's track "Into the Ether" appeared in the AppleTV+ series Shrinking. His 2024 album Revelation is a more inward looking record, shaped by spiritual explorations and vivid dreams during the COVID lockdowns. Vollebekk produced it himself and played pretty much everything, guitar, bass, piano, harmonica, B3 organ, Moog synthesizer, and accordion, with mixing handled by Tchad Blake and mastering by Greg Calbi. It earned him another Juno nomination for Adult Alternative Album of the Year, continuing a streak that shows no sign of letting up.
