About
Leon Vynehall built his name on house records that sound like they were made by someone who actually listens to a lot more than house. Pitchfork described his sound as the percussive energy of contemporary house meeting the rich harmonies of sample driven producers, and he counts Aphex Twin, Afrika Bambaataa, Man Parrish and DJ Shadow among his influences. After a residency at a Brighton club and a run of EPs on labels like Well Rounded Housing Project and Aus, 2014's Music for the Uninvited landed on year end lists everywhere. His Ninja Tune debut, Nothing Is Still (2018), came with a novella and a set of short films, and its single Envelopes (Chapter VI) got heavy play on BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music. Rare, Forever followed in 2021 to another round of glowing reviews. He has since moved to his own Studio Ooze label, putting out a steady stream of singles, and the album In Daytona Yellow arrived in 2025.
