About
Lestari Scholtes is a classical pianist who has built a lasting reputation in the Dutch music world. Her programmes tend to revolve around the impressionist and Romantic corners of the piano repertoire, with Chopin a particular focus. She brings his nocturnes, impromptus, waltzes and mazurkas to life alongside the work of French impressionist composers Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy, whose Claire de Lune features in her concerts. The music she champions spans the hazy atmosphere of nineteenth century Parisian salon culture to the distinctly Polish soul that runs through Chopin's writing, and she navigates both worlds with evident fluency.
