Few UK rappers have had a run quite like Lethal Bizzle's. The Walthamstow MC first made noise as part of More Fire Crew, whose 2002 grime single "Oi!" cracked the UK top 10 at a time when grime had almost no chart presence. Going solo, he dropped "Pow! (Forward)" in late 2004, a track so ferociously energetic it got banned from clubs and radio yet still hit number 11 and topped the UK Dance Chart, winning him a MOBO for Best Single. What's kept Bizzle interesting is his willingness to push grime into unexpected territory. He's stacked up top 40 hits by mixing the genre with dance, dubstep and house, scoring multiple singles that peaked at number 11, including "Rari WorkOut" with Jme and Tempa T and the infectious "Fester Skank". Most of these were non album releases, which says a lot about how he operates: building a fanbase through social media, independent releases and, somewhere along the way, launching a clothing brand called Stay Dench.
