About
Leyya is an Austrian indie pop duo made up of Sophie Lindinger and Marco Kleebauer, who started out in 2010 playing around in a garage in Eferding, Upper Austria. They ended up carving out a space for electropop in an Austrian scene that hadn't really explored it much in the 2010s, and what began as a small project soon grew into something much bigger. Their albums Spanish Disco (2015) and Sauna (2018) brought them two Amadeus Music Awards and a UK Music Video Award, and they became the first Austrian band to land in the top 10 most booked newcomers on the European Talent Exchange Programme's yearly list. Before the albums there was the Drowning in Youth EP, and later came the Longest Day of My Life EP. Their album Half Asleep sits between digital and analog sounds and leans into a more open, honest way of writing.
