Lézard are a five piece band from Ghent who operate somewhere at the collision point of post punk, disco, glam rock, new wave and electroclash. Their songs play out like darkly comic theatre pieces, toggling between absurdity and genuine emotional weight. The debut album Que Se Passe t il works as both a breakup record and a comeback in one: the band describes it as a diorama where heartbreakers, voyeurs, escapists and dreamers collide beneath a shattered disco ball. The whole thing channels the hazy residue of wild nights into something urgent and contrary. Live, they built a reputation fast. The early single "Nothing At All" kicked things off and the band quickly became a draw on the festival circuit, playing Pukkelpop, Best Kept Secret, Eurosonic, The Great Escape, Left of the Dial, Reeperbahn Festival and MaMA Festival among others. Their shows are theatrical and groove heavy, full of sharp observation and well placed absurdity.
