Lil Tecca put Queens on the map in a serious way when "Ransom" blew up in 2019, peaking at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and racking up over 1.4 billion streams on Spotify. That track, originally posted to Lyrical Lemonade, set the tone for his whole run: bittersweet, trippy cloud rap that hits harder than it looks on paper. His debut mixtape We Love You Tecca followed that same year and also landed at number four on the Billboard 200, cementing him as more than a one song story. Since then he has kept a steady pace of top ten debuts, with Virgo World, We Love You Tecca 2, Tec, Plan A, and most recently Dopamine all charting in that range. Along the way he has pulled in features from Juice WRLD, Lil Uzi Vert, Gunna, Chief Keef, and Trippie Redd, among others. His 2025 video for "Dark Thoughts" shows he is still very much in motion.
