Lil Tjay built his name fast. The Bronx rapper born Tione Jayden Merritt went from posting tracks on SoundCloud at 16 to landing a Columbia Records deal off the back of "Brothers", a single that earned triple platinum certification. His debut album True 2 Myself landed at number five on the Billboard 200 in 2019, and a guest spot on Polo G's "Pop Out" got him to number 11 on the Hot 100 before he'd even dropped a full solo project. His second album Destined 2 Win arrived in 2021 with "Calling My Phone" featuring 6LACK, which peaked at number three and became the biggest chart moment of his career to that point. His sound moves between drill, trap and melodic pop rap, and he's collaborated with Fivio Foreign, Pop Smoke and Polo G along the way. His third album 222, released in July 2023, featured an extensive roster including YoungBoy Never Broke Again, The Kid LAROI, Jadakiss and Summer Walker.
