LINA_ is widely regarded as one of the most celebrated fado singers of her generation, with a voice that is both sensuous and dramatically charged. That voice has built her a reputation that stretches well beyond Portugal's borders. Her work pushes at the edges of the genre rather than staying safely within its traditions, and her collaboration with Spanish pianist and composer Marco Mezquida on O Fado is a good example of that restless approach. Together they take classic fado pieces such as Fado da Defesa and Gota d'Água and open them up into new interpretive territory, alongside original compositions that test where fado's boundaries actually lie.
