Lindsey Stirling built her career on something nobody had really seen before: a violinist who dances full out while playing, blending classical technique with dubstep, electronica, and pop in elaborately choreographed music videos. She pushed herself onto the map largely through YouTube after judges on America's Got Talent told her in 2010 that her act was unmarketable and too thin to fill a theater. She ignored that advice entirely. Her video "Crystallize" was the eighth most watched YouTube video of 2012, and her collaboration with Pentatonix on "Radioactive" won Response of the Year at the first YouTube Music Awards. Her second album Shatter Me hit number two on the Billboard 200 and won Top Dance/Electronic Album at the Billboard Music Awards. Her channel has since crossed 13 million subscribers and over 3 billion views, covering everything from Bach and Vivaldi to video game soundtracks.
