About
Lip Critic are a Brooklyn outfit who build their sound around two drummers, samplers, and vocals, landing somewhere in the overlap between digital hardcore and post industrial noise. Signed to Partisan Records, they spent a few years honing their craft through a pair of EPs before dropping their debut album Hex Dealer in 2024 to strong critical response. Their second album Theft World, released in 2026, came out of a genuinely unsettling real life situation: a fan had stolen bandmember Bret Kaser's identity and became convinced the group was hiding secret messages for him. Rather than shelve that experience, the band used it as the creative core of the record. They rolled out Theft World with shows in a laundromat, a basement, and a boxing ring, which feels about right for a group that has never been too precious about where music belongs.
