About
Little Big are a Russian rave band out of Saint Petersburg who built a reputation on deliberately outrageous music videos long before most people outside Russia had heard of them. Their 2018 single "Skibidi" changed all that: the accompanying dance went so viral it spawned the "Skibidi Challenge" and eventually fed into the Skibidi Toilet cultural phenomenon, which got the word "skibidi" added to the Cambridge dictionary. They were also picked to represent Russia at Eurovision 2020 with "Uno", only for the contest to be cancelled because of the pandemic. The band runs their own label, Little Big Family, which also puts out music from The Hatters, Tatarka, Khleb and Lizer. After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, founders Ilya Prusikin and Sonya Tayurskaya relocated to Los Angeles and have been vocal about their opposition to the war. The Russian government put Prusikin on a foreign agent list and barred the band from performing in Russia. They responded with the anti war single "Generation Cancellation", which drew mixed reactions from audiences across the political spectrum.
