Lizet Aviva writes songs that feel like diary entries: intimate, unguarded reflections on the parts of life that quietly go unnoticed. Her sound pulls together guitar, loops and effects, and her influences run from Wilco to Feist. That combination produces something that can shift from barely a whisper to something close to menacing, always staying close to the bone. Writing and making music are inseparable for her, two ways of finding language for things that resist ordinary words. She works both as a solo performer and with a full band, featuring guitar, bass and drums, and either way she builds an intimate space that pulls you in. Her songs come from a fountain pen and a diary as much as from a guitar.
