About
Also known as: David Brown, David D. Brown, David Debrandon Brown
Lucky Daye has spent years being the secret ingredient in other people's hits before stepping fully into the spotlight himself. Born David Debrandon Brown in New Orleans, he spent a chunk of his career as a behind the scenes songwriter, racking up credits for Mary J. Blige, Ella Mai, and Ariana Grande before releasing music under his own name. His debut album Painted put him on the map in 2019, earning Grammy nominations for Best R&B Album, Best R&B Song, and Best R&B Performance. From there he kept building: his EP Table for Two won the Grammy for Best Progressive R&B Album in 2022, Candydrip gave him his first Billboard Hot 100 entry with "Over", and his third album Algorithm arrived in 2024 to more Grammy attention, with its lead single "That's You" winning Best Traditional R&B Performance. In 2026 he signed a new deal with Warner Records, and a video for "Nowhere Fast" dropped the same year.
