About
Also known as: 루시
A rock band with a violin up front instead of a lead guitar, LUCY came out of JTBC's talent show Superband in 2019 and finished second. That setup gives them a sound that doesn't sit neatly beside most other Korean bands. The four piece is Shin Ye chan on violin and leading the group, Choi Sang yeop on vocals and guitars, Jo Won sang on bass, and Shin Gwang il on vocals and drums. Only one original member left after the show, with Lee Joo hyuk replaced by Choi Sang yeop. They signed with Mystic Entertainment and debuted on May 8, 2020 with the single album Dear. The name started as the dog living near Wonsang's studio during Superband, though Gwang il also points to the Latin word lux, meaning light. Their MV uploads trace the run from Flowering and PLAY to The knight who can't die and the silk cradle, and a fresh video landed in April 2026.
