Luude, the project of Tasmanian producer Christian Benson, made a serious splash with his drum and bass rework of Men at Work's classic 'Down Under'. Released in late 2021 on Sweat It Out, the track featured Colin Hay re recording his own vocals, and the result went top ten in Australia and the UK and spent four weeks at number one in New Zealand, twice as long as the original managed back in 1982. That kind of chart run is rare for a drum and bass record anywhere, let alone one built around a decades old pub rock anthem. Beyond that breakout moment, Luude has been quietly building a catalog since his first single dropped in December 2015, with the EP 6AM arriving in September 2021. He also operates as one half of the Australian electronic duo Choomba, showing there is plenty more going on than just one viral hit.
