About
Luvcat is the alternative rock and dark pop project of Liverpool born Sophie Morgan Howarth, who named the act after the Cure's "The Love Cats" and built it into something quite different from the acoustic folk sound she had spent years crafting as Sophie Morgan. Under that earlier name she toured with the Waterboys after securing rights to record "The Whole of the Moon", and her EP Sons & Daughters drew real praise for the purity of her voice. The switch to Luvcat in 2023 brought a full band, a sharper edge, and singles like the murder ballad "He's My Man" and "Dinner @ Brasserie Zédel". Her debut album Vicious Delicious arrived on Halloween 2025, a fitting release date for music that draws on Nick Cave and the Smiths as much as Kate Bush and Joni Mitchell.
