Lyn Lapid first turned heads with 'Producer Man', a song she wrote about a bad experience with a music producer and released verse by verse as an a cappella on TikTok. That kind of direct, personal storytelling quickly found an audience, and Shazam named her one of the top five artists to watch in January 2022. Signed to Republic Records and later Mercury Records, she built her catalog through a string of EPs including The Outsider and to love in the 21st century before releasing her debut album Buzzkill in April 2025. The record was led by singles 'Buttons' and 'Coraline', earned a deluxe edition, and was supported by a tour. A member of vocal collective Earcandy and a ukulele player, Lapid cites Filipino artists Jessica Sanchez and 4th Impact as key influences on her sound.
