Maayan Licht is a sopranist, a male soprano voice type that ranks among the rarest in classical music today. Handel and Vivaldi both wrote some of their most celebrated arias for this voice, and Licht has built his career around exactly that repertoire. His approach brings together historically informed performance practice with a singing style that is vivid and technically demanding. Performing alongside harpsichordist Guy Maori, his programmes weave together solo keyboard works and baroque arias that showcase the theatrical power and refined craft of the genre.
