About
Also known as: Mark van der Schoot
Maduk is one of the Dutch names that helped make liquid drum and bass feel bigger and more melodic. Real name Mark van der Schoot, he is a producer and DJ from Amsterdam who has put music out on Hospital Records, Liquicity Records, Viper Recordings, Monstercat and Fokuz Recordings, which is a pretty wide spread of homes for one catalogue. His first album, Never Give Up, landed on Hospital Records on 29 April 2016. He also co founded Liquicity together with Maris Goudzwaard, so he has had a hand in shaping the scene as well as soundtracking it. Recognition came quickly. He took Best Newcomer Producer at the Drum and Bass Awards in 2014, then Best Newcomer DJ in 2015. Tracks like Avalon, Never Again and Don't Be Afraid sit in the liquid funk and chillstep corner of his sound, with a free Pokemon remix thrown in for good measure.
