Magdalene Ho made history in 2024 by becoming the first woman to win the International German Piano Award, adding to a string of major competition wins that includes the Clara Haskil International Piano Competition in 2023, where she swept up the main prize along with the Audience Prize, Young Critics' Prize, and Children's Corner Prize. Critics consistently point to the clarity of her phrasing and her structural awareness as the qualities that set her apart. She studies at the Royal College of Music in London under Dmitri Alexeev and has performed as a soloist with ensembles including the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. Ho's repertoire spans solo recital programmes to chamber music, and she has shared the stage with cellists and violinists in performances of Brahms and Schubert. In 2026 she returned to Malaysia to lead lecture recitals and a chamber concert, connecting with students and musicians on performance practice and career development.
