Marc Huynen plays trumpet, and his work sits comfortably in the lyrical, emotionally direct tradition of Chet Baker. Together with pianist Johan de Haan, bassist Jo Didderen, and singer and guitarist Rik Huijts, he explores the vulnerable, melancholic side of jazz and classic American song. The mood is intimate and unguarded, the kind of music that lingers after the last note fades.
