About
Also known as: Marc Mouillon
Marc Mauillon is a French singer with a voice that defies easy categorisation, moving fluidly between tenor and baritone registers depending on the repertoire. His real passion lies in early music: he has recorded the complete works of Guillaume de Machaut across two albums, both of which picked up Diapason d'Or awards and serious critical praise. That said, he covers a remarkable range, from baroque specialists like Jordi Savall and ensembles Alla Francesca and Doulce Mémoire, all the way to contemporary opera by Péter Eötvös and Pascal Dusapin at the Opéra Comique. On stage he has taken on Mozart roles including Papageno and Guglielmo, performed Monteverdi with Le Poème Harmonique, and sung Grands Motets français with Les Arts Florissants at venues including the Barbican in London and the Chapels of Versailles. A nomination at the Victoires de la musique classique in 2010 and the Révélation Classique prize from Adami in 2004 mark him out as one of the more versatile and distinctive voices working across the early and classical repertoire today.
