Marcel Mulders

About

Marcel Mulders is a singer who has built a theatre show around the songs of Rob de Nijs, under the name Puur de Nijs. He has been performing it with his five piece band since 2022, and it has grown into several theatre tours, many of them with sold out halls. The set runs from classics like 'Mallebabbe', 'Zondag' and 'Het werd zomer' to newer songs such as 'Wat als later nu is', plus a few surprises written by Rob's fellow artists. This is not a look alike or sound alike act. Marcel sings the songs his own way and treats the material with respect, telling stories about Rob between numbers, sometimes with a bit of humour and a personal twist. Video footage plays during several songs. The songs are rooted in everyday life, which gives the room a shared feeling, and that connection is what the show is built around.
