About
Maria Becerra built her following on YouTube before pivoting hard into music, and the transition paid off fast. The Quilmes native blends reggaeton, trap, bachata, cumbia and dancehall into a sound that Billboard tagged as a leading voice in Argentina's urban pop movement. Her debut EP 222 got her on the Argentina Hot 100, but things really took off with the remix to "High" featuring Tini and Lola Índigo, which hit number two in the country. From there she stacked up multiple chart toppers, including collabs with J Balvin and Tini, and earned eight Latin Grammy nominations along the way. Her second album La Nena de Argentina dropped in December 2022, led by the singles "Ojalá" and "Automático", and showed off just how wide her sonic range really is. In 2023 she signed with Warner Music Latina and picked up the Visionary Award at Billboard's Latin Women in Music event. She also broke a record, holding the most entries by a woman on the Argentina Hot 100 with 43. A third album has been in the works, described by Becerra herself as finished and ready to go.
