About
Marij van den Boom is a vocalist whose work is deeply tied to the music of Carole King, particularly the songs from King's classic album Tapestry. Together with pianist Peter van Kreij, she performs an intimate theatrical concert built around themes of friendship and connection. The two first met at a church in Geffen, and that encounter grew into a close musical partnership. Their shows bring in other musicians as well, weaving timeless songs together with personal stories told from the stage. It is warm, conversational music making rather than a straight concert, the kind of evening where the space between the songs matters just as much as the songs themselves.
