Mark Isham is one of those rare musicians who can hold his own as a jazz trumpeter and keyboardist while quietly becoming one of Hollywood's most dependable film composers. Working across crossover jazz, ambient, post bop, and progressive electronic music, he has collaborated with an impressively eclectic range of artists, from Van Morrison and Pharoah Sanders to Brian Wilson, Joni Mitchell, and Siouxsie Sioux. That breadth of taste comes through in his scores too. With over 200 film and television productions to his name since 1983, Isham's soundtrack work ranges from Point Break and Blade to Crash and Once Upon a Time. He picked up a Grammy for his 1990 self titled album, earned an Academy Award nomination for A River Runs Through It, a Golden Globe nod for Nell, and an Emmy win for his theme to EZ Streets. Nine Grammy nominations in total give a sense of just how consistently he has shown up.
