About
Also known as: Martha Canga Antonio
Martha Da'ro, also known as Martha Canga Antonio, is a Belgian singer and actress from Mons with Angolan roots who managed to land a starring role in the acclaimed gang thriller Black without a single day of prior acting experience. Chosen from 450 candidates, she played Mavela and won Best Actress at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in 2015. Music has always been part of her world too. Before going solo, she sang with the group Soul'Art, a five piece act blending hip hop and soul in Dutch, French and English. In 2018 she stepped out under the name Martha Da'ro and released the single Summer Blues. She followed that up with the EP Cheap Wine & Paris in 2020, showing there is plenty more to her than the screen roles that first made her famous.
