About
West London's Matilda Mann makes the kind of indie folk that feels like a late night journal entry set to fingerpicked guitar. After her first EP in 2019 opened doors to support slots with Arlo Parks, Beabadoobee, and The Staves, she spent the next few years building a devoted following through four EPs that mixed contemplative lyrics with a wit that keeps things from getting too earnest. She also pops up on Bombay Bicycle Club's single "Fantasneeze", lending harmony vocals to a track that introduced her to a whole new crowd. Her debut album Roxwell arrived in early 2025 to overwhelmingly positive reviews, with critics pointing to her balance of emotional depth and sharp, occasionally sarcastic lyricism as what makes her stand out among UK singer songwriters. One of the album's singles, "Everything I'm Not", landed in the video game Life is Strange: Double Exposure, and she contributed a cover to the 2025 tribute album Chet Baker Re:imagined. Recent uploads suggest she has kept busy into 2026, with new music videos already surfacing.
