Matt Nathanson blends folk and rock into something that lands squarely in the alternative rock world, and his platinum track "Come On Get Higher" is probably what most people know him for. He plays acoustic and electric guitar, performs solo and with a full band, and has built a catalog that keeps turning up in TV shows ranging from NCIS and Scrubs to One Tree Hill. His song "Giants" opened the 2016 World Series of Poker on ESPN, and his covers game is serious: he has tackled everyone from Prince and Cat Stevens to Radiohead and Bruce Springsteen, and in 2021 he recorded a full cover of U2's Achtung Baby under the title Achtung Matty, a record he calls his favorite of all time. His album Show Me Your Fangs produced "Bill Murray", a song Nathanson himself describes as the linchpin of the record and his favorite thing he has ever written.
