About

Also known as: MC Thais, MCTha, Mc Tha, Mc Thaah, Thays da Silva, Thaís Dayane da Silva

MC Tha, born Thaís Dayane da Silva in São Paulo, makes music that sits at the crossroads of new MPB and Brazilian pop, drawing on a rich palette of sounds rooted in samba, pagode, forró and brega. Her debut album Rito de Passá landed in 2019 and made an immediate impression, landing on the São Paulo Association of Art Critics list of the 25 best Brazilian albums of the second half of that year. Since then she has kept busy with a string of official video releases, including Coração Vagabundo and Despedida, showing a knack for crafting emotionally direct tracks that feel both personal and accessible. She records and performs under the name MC Tha, though fans also know her as MC Thais or simply MCTha.
