About
Medium Build is Nicholas Carpenter, a singer songwriter who works out of Anchorage, Alaska and has put out five studio albums, now on Slowplay / Island Records. He started out writing songs for an indie rock band called Little Moses while studying songwriting in Nashville, then took the Medium Build name once he landed in Alaska in 2016. Falling Apart was his debut that year, followed by Softboy and Roughboy in 2018 and Wild in 2019. Things picked up in 2023 when "Friend for Life", a collaboration with X Ambassadors, became his first chart entry, debuting at No. 17 on Billboard's Alternative Digital Song Sales. Since then he has toured with Lewis Capaldi, FINNEAS and Tyler Childers, played South by Southwest, and hit festivals like Outside Lands and Austin City Limits. In 2024 he released the album Country and the Marietta EP, which features "Yoke", a song with his old college classmate Julien Baker.
