Memphis Bleek built his name as one of Jay Z's closest collaborators, first appearing on 'Coming of Age' from Jay Z's landmark debut Reasonable Doubt back in 1996. Signed to Roc A Fella Records, he followed that up with four studio albums of his own: Coming of Age (1999), The Understanding (2000), M.A.D.E. (2003), and 534 (2005). The debut landed at number seven on the Billboard 200 and went gold, as did The Understanding. His highest charting single was 'Is That Yo Chick' featuring Missy Elliott and Jay Z, which hit number seven on the Hot Rap Singles chart. Beyond the albums, Bleek has kept himself busy running his own operation. He founded Get Low Records in 1998 and later launched Warehouse Music Group, through which he signed rapper Casanova. He also appeared in the film State Property and is a playable character in Def Jam: Fight for NY. His fifth studio album, Apt 3D, finally arrived in 2025.
